Easter Services at St Andrew’s

Palm Sunday – 4th April – 8:45am (procession starts)  9:00 (service starts)
Our Palm Sunday service will be held outdoors at Spring Lake Park.  The service will begin at 8:45am with a procession around the lake, starting in the car park on Burlington Terrace (click here for map). The service itself will take place on the grassy area, almost opposite Moselle’s Restaurant. This is a wonderful opportunity to take the church into the heart of the community; please join us if you possibly can.

Maundy Thursday –  18th April  (6:30 – 8:30pm)
On Maundy Thursday we will re-enact the ‘last supper’ with a shared meal and communion.  We’ll be entering into the events of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples before his crucifixion.  The meal was deeply symbolic and Jesus’ words were of vital importance, we’ll be focussing on both during this highly interactive service.

Good Friday – 19th April ( 9:00 am)
On Good Friday, we’ll be re-telling the story of the passion, with a particular focus on the three key locations: The Garden, The Court and The Hill.  We will remember and reflect on the fear, injustice, despair and confusion surrounding Jesus’ trial, crucifixion and burial.

Easter Sunday – 21st April ( 9:00 am)
Alleluia. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! On Easter Sunday, we will celebrate the triumph and joy of the resurrection.  In the early church, people were often baptised on Easter Sunday and we will be following that tradition as we baptise two adults and two infants into the Church – the body of Christ.
