This Lent, we are intentionally turning up the heat on the prayer life of our church. As we journey toward Easter, we invite you to join us in creating space to listen to God, pray together, and grow deeper in faith.
Lent at St Andrew’s
Lent is a 40-day season (excluding Sundays) that begins on Ash Wednesday and leads us to Easter Sunday. It is a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal — and prayer sits right at the heart of that journey.
Ash Wednesday Prayer Vigil
Wednesday 18 February | 9:00 pm – 6:00 am
Following our Ash Wednesday service, we will be holding an overnight prayer vigil at the rectory:
Rev’d Charlie will observe the vigil throughout the night, and we will aim to have at least two other persons praying together at any given time, so you can be confident you’ll be part of a group.
You are welcome to sign up for one or more hour-long prayer slots via the sign up sheet at church. There will be some prayer resources available, and you may choose to pray quietly on your own or with others.
Let’s make prayer a priority this Lent.
The Prayer Course during Lent (Hubs)
During Lent, some of our Hubs will also be participating in The Prayer Course, an 8-week course produced by 24-7 Prayer. This course is designed to help people explore different ways of praying and to grow in confidence and depth in prayer. These may start as early as Thursday 29th January.
If you are not currently part of a Hub and would like to join one for this course or simply want to find out more, please take a look at the Hubs listed below and let us know which one you’d like to connect with.
